Somali traditional elder slams US air raid on Galmudug forces

The leader of the Hawiye clan council of elders Mohamed Hassan Haad speaks out recent U.S.-Puntland attack on Galmudug state military base near Galkayo.

The chairman of Hawiye clan elders council said the attack could reignite the conflict between Galmudug and Puntland and plunge Somalia into civil war again.

Haad has condemned the U.S. air strike that killed over a dozen of Galmudug soldiers, in which Puntland state forces have played a major role.

He called on Puntland and Galmudug to exercise maximum restraint to avoid another battle between the two nighbouring federal state in Somalia who fought several times in the past.
